Josh Bangert, a fifteen year old from Chicago, is going blind due to Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. The fast moving genetic disease means that he’s had to get serious about the experiences he wants to have before he loses his vision. But that’s not stopping him. With a successful fundraising campaign and an established list of the new things he’d like to try, he’s not taking no for an answer.
Good Feet is inspired! We’re happy to hear about how Josh is making the best of this challenging situation by prioritizing getting out there and experiencing the world with his family.
Trying new things is always challenging. Whether we’re held back by time limits, financial limits, or the limits we create in our minds, it can be all too easy to put things off, waiting for the perfect time. But there is never a perfect time. There’s only what you make it.
And we like how Josh is approaching the experience of trying new things: surrounded by family and friends, full of appreciation, and open to what the world has to offer. We can all learn from Josh’s positive spirit and passion for life.
